Seniors Gateway to Legal Information ProjectIn 2003 – 2004, the 411 Seniors Centre and the Representation Agreement Resource Centre (RARC) partnered on an Internet project funded by the Law Foundation of British Columbia. Key components of the project included training volunteers to provide web-based legal information services and the development of a Seniors Gateway web portal. TrainingMore than 40 Seniors Legal Information Providers (SLIPS) were trained to use the Internet to provide information and referral services to seniors. The trained volunteers are now applying their new knowledge and skills at several different Lower Mainland seniors-serving organizations. Web PortalThe Seniors Gateway web portal is dedicated to linking SLIPs , and seniors generally, to key web-based legal information resources. The portal was formally launched in January, 2005.
