411 Seniors Centre Society’s President, Stuart Alcock, and Executive Director, Leslie Remund, are happy to announce the City of Vancouver’s support of funding up to $800,000 to assist in the construction of a new senior’s centre in the Kensington Cedar-Cottage neighbourhood.

On April 11, 2017, the City reinforced its commitment to support Vancouver’s low income seniors in developing a greater community presence with information & referral services.

The funding will permit 411 Seniors Centre Society to collaborate with the City’s Vancouver Affordable Housing Agency (VAHA) and in turn, to create a multi-purpose centre with the aim of supporting low income housing. This new facility will be located at 3510 Fraser Street with the goal of operating the new 411 facility on the ground floor and affordable housing on the top five floors. The site will consist of approximately 50 units with both studios and one bedroom units.
